Good Things Happen Here!

Different Is Good
We are, at our core, a small group of friends who share a common vision. A vision for building a welcoming place that provides hands-on tools for the determined do-gooders among us to make a real difference in the world. A place where hard work and determination not only pay off monetarily, but also a place that helps feed that inner voice most of us has that pushes us to do the right thing. If you want to generate goodness, we're here to help you do it.
Blessed by an incredibly supportive venture team, we've had many opportunities to locate our operations in a single, traditional office environment. Very purposely, we have politely declined the offer and have chosen to keep our company distributed. We live in an amazing place, our Bay Area. The opportunities we have at our fingertips, not only for professional and entrepreneurial growth, but to grow culturally, and culinarily are near limitless. Plus, have you seen that big orange bridge that welcomes the Pacific Ocean to our Bay? No matter the occasion, it still manages to take our breath away. But, it's no secret our aging infrastructure simply cannot manage to move millions of commuters safely and securely from home to office and back. They are responsible for creating millions of tons of emissions each year, and we chose not to be a part of it for as long as possible. Will taking a half dozen cars off the road fix everything? Not by a long shot, but if we can share the concepts behind our infrastructure with one other small start-up, who knows how far this type of ripple will travel.
This may lead folks to think that we are working inefficiently, or that we are somehow limiting our growth. It's simply not true. We can say with every assurance that we have an infrastructure that rivals companies 10x our size. We have availed ourselves of the near limitless supply of service companies that have helped keep us e-connected in a way that may have not been possible 5 years ago. When we want to share a hug or a meal, or there's a new project best tackled in person, we do it off-commute times and love to use our own homes as inviting, coaster-free office space. It also gives our pups a chance to hang out and work on their plans to create some sort of super pack. The next step in our evolution will be to replace our cars with a mini-fleet of electric vehicles. At that point, we will have moved one step further to our potential.
When it came time to source a suitable shipping bag, we knew the .03 per bag, landfill-bloating poly mailer was simply not going to cut it. They are the plastic water bottle of the shipping world and we knew we could do better. After a significant amount of testing, we found our partner, EcoEnclose, from beautiful Longmont, CO. The bags we chose are definitely more expensive than standard issue, but we felt that talking about conservation is cheap, and we had a chance to do something about it. When the doorbell rings and you get to see one for yourself, please note that these bags are not only 100% recycled and 100% recyclable, they're also reusable! They're engineered and manufactured here in the U.S. with a dual self-seal strip that allows for easy reuse. Magical stuff if you ask us. Please say "hi" to our friend, Sonya, if you place your order.
For our business cards we chose to go with the best in the business, moo.com. Not only is their green paper manufactured with 100% recycled post consumer waste, the card itself is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. They're also ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free), made from a sustainable source, and are manufactured using wind power! That's so much goodness we really had no other choice.
